The research analyzed nine studies, highlighting the lack of uniformity in the protocols for diagnosing SIBO using hydrogen and methane breath tests. Despite the high reported prevalence of SIBO in CF patients, there is an urgent need to standardize diagnostic criteria and test protocols to better understand the epidemiology and management of SIBO in this population.
